LBW implements an optimization core for the technical network control at Open Grid Europe, one of the largest German gas network operators (www.open-grid-europe.com). The optimization core is based on research work of the research campus MODAL (http://forschungscampus-modal.de/). LBW uses its expertise to bring mathematical optimization to industrial application in close collaboration with the GasLab of the research campus MODAL (https://www.zib.de/projects/modal-gaslab). The optimization core will be part of the production system for the control of 12,000 km gas transport network and the transport of 2/3 of the German natural gas demand.
